Every spring, all 32 teams in the NFL get ready to draft the hottest college football players from the previous season. Sometimes, it works out great. In 1998, the Indianapolis Colts selected Peyton Manning in the first round, and he went on to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in football history.

Sometimes, however, there are surprises. The New England Patriots waited until the next-to-last round to draft Tom Brady, and he ended up being arguably the best quarterback of all time. St. Louis Rams quarterback Kurt Warner wasn't even drafted at all and was cut by the Green Bay Packers. He found himself working in a grocery store before finally making it back to the NFL, winning a Super Bowl, and making a name for himself in the league on his way to becoming a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But not all draft picks turn out to be like these guys. Some teams put all of their time, effort, and money into a player who was a star in college, but he turns out to be a bust in the pros. That could have to do with an untimely injury, too much competition on the team, or, in some opinions, the way a team handles the new player. It sometimes happens because a player who is good in college doesn't always make for a good pro.

Whatever the case, we've put together a list of 15 NFL players who were drafted in 2021 yet failed to live up to their hype during the 2021-22 football season. This doesn’t mean that they may not become stars in the future. It just means that their first season was subpar.
