The Least Patriotic States in America

By Staff Writer

A majority of people who live in this country are proud to be Americans, but it turns out that some places are more patriotic than others. But how would you even begin trying to figure all that out? Well, we've got all the answers you're looking for today!

The folks over at WalletHub have recently released a new study that attempts to compare the rates of patriotism in the country across different states. While "patriotism" can be a nebulous term to define, the researchers did their best to compare key factors that most people would at least vaguely associate with the term. These important statistics are broken down into two categories, civic engagement and military engagement, and look at things like active-duty military members living in the state, the percentage of citizens who are veterans, and the percentage of citizens who voted in the 2020 elections.

While some states scored incredibly high in both categories, others, unfortunately, did not. Today we're taking a look at the states that scrape the bottom of the barrel when it comes to patriotism. Does your state have patriotism problems or are you all red-blooded Americans through and through?

Let's read on and find out!
